Primus Medical Shanghai (PMS/China) and Progressive Group, Inc. (PGI/Taiwan) started as in vitro diagnostics (IVD) distribution companies in 1984. To better serve our clients, we realized that focusing solely on diagnostic market was no longer enough. Recognizing the potential of emerging medical device innovations from startups and academia, we understood that embracing these opportunities was essential to advancing healthcare and meeting a broader coverage of patient needs in China and Taiwan. To focus on these new opportunities, Progressive Venture Partners was founded in 1999 as a healthcare-focused investment firm, while PMS and PGI continued their distribution efforts as subsidiaries of Progressive Venture Partners. We are now interested in areas including aging, oncology, neurodegenerative diseases, stroke, sepsis, diabetes, wound care, incision wound care, in vitro diagnostics (IVD), and medical-related artificial intelligence products.
